TMA1402: Creative Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Blog 5, Start-up Part 2
When collecting all the information together that we had found, we had arranged another meeting on Teams to go over what research we had found and our ideas to move the business concept forward. Whilst attending the Teams meeting, me and three others were the only ones that attended this meeting, we waited ten minutes and decided to go forward with the meeting as we had not heard anything from the other three, that did not attend. We spoke about what we wanted our project to be and how to move this forward. We keep the rest of the group updates on the WhatsApp group what we had discussed and some names for the project had been put in the group chat also these were, conversation station, grass and roots, the open space project, change and the growth project. We had decided to go with The Growth Project, has we felt this fitted the narrative more. Hannah one of graphic design students, had done some mock up for logo designs with the name we had decided on these were:
We had all been given roles to do in the project, so we all had our own roles to play and was shared out equally and to everybody strengths. My role was photography and social media, photography was a shared role with Jonathan another member of the group, as Jonathan lived in Huddersfield, I looked into what we needed photos of and asked Jonathan to go out and take these images, we felt this would be best solution as my seizures at the time was not great and as Jonathan lived in Huddersfield town centre, this would save me travelling in. After talking with the group we had made the decision for me to stick with the social media sides of things and making a website as I could do this at home, I also felt comfortable in doing this has I had previous experience in building a website and setting up social media platforms. As the project began moving forward me, Hannah and Gabs had arranged meetings, we had tried to meet up in University so this could be face-to-face but was not possible to do so with other saying it would be better online, so we made meetings Teams so that everyone could be involved and it was working as team. Turning up to the meetings it become evidently clear that they was certain people in the group that was not turning up to these meetings and become frustrating when 3 out of the 7 were not turning up to meeting on a regular basis and we could not get an hold of. Half way in to the project we were still at the stage were not everyone was turning up and communicating with the group and after making decision how to move forward in these online meetings and after weeks of no communication one of the other group members, who was the only member who was not answering back in messages, wanted to come in half way through and change the whole concept, branding and marketing, when we had already made these decisions as a group on the first week. This did not go down well as some of us had worked extremely hard to get to the point of where we was at and when one person thinks they are bigger then the group, the group began to divide. Unfortunately one of the members of the group Hannah who had been one of the members turning up to every meeting and played a big role in the idea, concept and graphic design of the business plan had told us she had been asked to move groups to help other group that was struggling, during this Teams meeting when she told me, Gabs and Sushmitha that she was moving groups, she had also mentioned that one of the other members of the group Mehroosa who had been the one wanting to change ideas on us half way through, had spoken to Hannah about her graphics work and told her that she did not like Hannah’s work and she could do better and she would take over it from now, this made me think did Hannah get moved groups or did she ask to be moved.
