Guest lecture Carlotta Cardana: 4
The final thing that Carlotta Cardana discussed was her recent work during Covid-19, Carlotta explained that working for a magazine was hard due to the Covid-19 pandemic as some of the magazines have shut down due to this. Carlotta went from working in editorial and commercial photography to finding a different way to work in hard times. This led to her working for a magazines but not in the field she was use to, she had been working in documentary Photography which ended up taking photographs in Covid-19 centres and documenting what was happening in them. Carlotta went on to travel to Cornwall and found a project that she wanted to work on but she had to pitch this to the magazine she was working for, the project was about that Cornwall had found lithium in their seas which could make Cornwall rich again.
Throughout listening to Carlotta talk and looking at her work you could tell that everything she worked on had a story behind it and you could follow this story through her images. This is what I was trying to do with my project and wanted the images to speak for themselves.
