Diagnosis
While having time out of university I was eventually diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), this is a condition brought on by trauma, causing various symptoms which for me, one of them is non-epileptic seizures. Over the years I have had to find ways to cope with my symptoms, the main one being the seizures, with therapy and support groups have been helpful over the years, my seizures have gone from 20/30 a day to 5/15 a day. This reduction in seizures has lead me to be able to re-take my final year, I was hoping to do this way before now but due to my health issues I had to wait until I was in a good place to do so. So, as I was saying at the beginning, I re-started my final year in September 2020 and this is one of the best things I have done. Always follow your dreams, even if it takes you down a different path, whatever you want to do in life can always be done even if you have to take a different road along the way. I am now heading into my last few months of Uni and I am enjoying ever minute of it.
